Representatives of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Banja Luka had the opportunity to participate in the 4th Forum of Mayors of the capitals of the countries of Central and Southeastern Europe and the People’s Republic of China, 17 + 1, hosted by the city of Tirana. The Forum was organized on October 24-26 this year. The Forum organized a series of round tables dedicated to strengthening economic, cultural and educational cooperation between Central and Southeast European countries and China (17 + 1).
The LANDS project was presented at a roundtable on Tourism Education. The LANDS project is one of the international projects implemented by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Banja Luka, together with partners from Serbia and six EU countries, funded by EU funds, the Erasmus + Program. The aim of the project is to build the capacities of higher education institutions and their active involvement in the process of improving the quality of life in rural areas through the diversification of the rural economy. Prof. Gordana Rokvić, PhD, presented the work on “Linking tourism and agriculture-experiences from Southeast European countries”, and invited representatives of the University from the countries of the region, as well as the Southwestern Beijing, to cooperate in research related to the agritourism, rural tourism and other scientific- research fields. In order to strengthen the cooperation of the University of the Countries 17 + 1, the participants of the round table also signed a charter of cooperation, as a formal basis for further development of initiatives and activities.
